One would think, by the outrageous reaction shown here, that Lucian was being tortured…not the case.
What’s really happening here is that I’ve just introduced her to the excitement of stickers! That’s right you guys…simple stickers are responsible for this outrage.
Lucian was huge fan of this new found fun until she discovered that stickers do not unstick after you put them down on paper and resulted in this full blown Sticker Crisis! I mean real alligator tears and full on hyperventilating over a tiny flower sticker that was forever doomed to be stuck on paper.
Now most moms would just soothe and distract their baby with a new fun item, but I proceeded to try and save the day by breaking my nails off while frantically trying to lift the edge of the stickers, all the while trying to shush the wailing Lucian siren.
Once I discovered my efforts to save the stickers were lost and Lucian was now a giant mess of snot and tears, I decided to just relax and capture this sticker breakdown on camera because some day I’m going to miss the simplicity of a Sticker Crisis.
Here’s a tip from my lesson learned here:
If you’re going to introduce your child to a new toy or activity, don’t try it for the first time on the road when stress is already high, sleep is lacking and your kiddo is already overstimulated. Save the big reveal of monumental fun like stickers for a lazy afternoon at home.
